Hi! My name is Sallie, and I'm a homemaker living in Texas with my husband, a golden retriever, and a cat. We are empty-nesters with two wonderful grown sons and two beautiful daughters-in-law. They also live in Texas, so we see each other often. Over the years, I have been a stay-at-home mom and an elementary school teacher. Although I am not officially retired from teaching, I am taking some time off.

> Why did I name my blog Texas Cottage? When I began to think about blogging, I had several names in mind. I was looking for something unique, but I kept coming back to Texas
> Cottage. I finally decided this was the one because of the image the word cottage evokes. When I think of a cottage, I envision beautiful flower gardens, green lawns, immense shade trees, sweet tea, delicious food, beautiful furniture, and lots of pillows. A cottage is an inviting and comfortable retreat. Well, I don't live in a cottage but in a traditional home in the suburb of a busy city. My goal is to give my home a cottage feeling with a Texas flair.
